Some very promising movie news on the horizon today, as Deadline reports that Game of Thrones alums Peter Dinklage and Jason Momoa have signed up for a new buddy comedy all about vampires. Dinklage is great, as you know. Momoa is also great, obviously. And vampire comedy is a promising genre if What We Do In the Shadows is any indication.
The plot will follow Dinklage, who will play a descendant of legendary vampire hunter Van Helsing, who teams up with Momoa, who will play a pacifist vampire who resists his own bloodlust. Together, the two figure out a way to grift local townspeople staging fake vampire slayings in return for cash. (If memory serves, this was the plot of 1996’s Dragonheart, but played more seriously there). It sounds like a pretty good con, but here’s guessing things go awry and hijinks ensue.
The movie is called Good Bad and Undead and will be written by Mark Swift and Damian Shannon, who cut their teeth on horror movies in the ’00s. There’s no word on exactly when to expect the movie but expect it to be fast-tracked once quarantine lets up.
