In a recent conversation with Forbes magazine, rapper and fashion designer Kanye West discussed how the Bible inspires his design choices.
“A lot of my creative friends, I tell them, the Bible is better than Pinterest. You can bring something into space and time we exist in while reflecting thousands of years of truth,” he explained.
He said that lately, the Old Testament has been a point of inspiration.
As an example, he pointed to Leviticus 19:19 which says, “You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with a different kind. You shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor shall you wear a garment of cloth made of two kinds of material.”
Even that idea—keeping the material on clothing simple—is something that he said he has incorporated into his work.
