Over the weekend, pop star Justin Bieber took to Instagram in an emotional post, and asked for prayers for his mental and spiritual health.
He wrote that he’s “been struggling a lot” and that he’s been “feeling super disconnected and weird.”
Bieber wrote, “I always bounce back so I’m not worried, just wanted to reach out and ask for your [sic] guys to pray for me. God is faithful and ur prayers really work, thanks … the most human season I’ve ever been in facing my stuff head on.”
Among the thousands of comments were pastors Chad Veach, Carl Lentz and Rich Wilkerson Jr., all of whom gave him messages of encouragement.
In a recent interview with Vogue, Bieber and his new wife Hailey opened up about the marriage, their faith and mental health. Justin told the magazine, “Just thinking about music stresses me out,” he said. “I’ve been successful since I was 13, so I didn’t really have a chance to find who I was apart from what I did. I just needed some time to evaluate myself: who I am, what I want out of my life, my relationships, who I want to be—stuff that when you’re so immersed in the music business you kind of lose sight of.” He also discussed his past struggles with substance abuse.
Bieber is a vocal Christian, and frequently hangs out with pastors and Christian leaders. Pastors Carl Lentz and Judah Smith were both pictured in a recent post.
