Justin Bieber Apologizes For the Past Few Years of Justin Biebery

Earlier this week, Justin Bieber appeared on Ellen to celebrate her birthday and also get a little talking-to about some of his recent antics. If you’re unfamiliar with those antics, you can Google them at your leisure, but for the purposes of this story, it seems Ellen’s words hit home with young master Bieber. He has issued a very, very dark apology video which, lighting techniques aside, do seem to feature a young pop star genuinely attempting to come to terms with the disconnect between who he feels like he is and what he actually does. “It’s been a minute since I’ve been in a public appearance,” he says. “And I didn’t want to come off arrogant or conceited, or basically how I’ve been acting the last year, year and a half.”

Being young and growing up in this business is hard—growing up in general is hard …I really want people to know I care. I care about people. I’m not that person that I don’t give a f***, I’m not that kid. I’m a person who genuinely, genuinely cares. Although what’s happened in the past has happened, I just want to make the best impression on people, and be kind, and loving, and gentle, and soft. Although people can call me a softie, that’s how my mom raised me.

You can watch the whole video here (there is one profanity, as you’ve seen) and determine for yourself whether or not he’s turning over a new leaf. It’s worth remembering that this comes on the heels of Bieber’s recent baptism by Hillsong NYC pastor Carl Lentz …
