Jesse Eisenberg Has Been Cast as Lex Luthor in Zach Snyder’s ‘Batman/Superman’ Bonanza

Zach Snyder’s upcoming Batman/Superman movie continues to inch closer to reality, with the announcement that Superman’s chief villain had been cast. After a few squashed rumors, Lex Luthor will be played by Jesse Eisenberg—best known for his Oscar-nominated portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network. It’s a bit of a head-scratcher, as Luthor is generally played by aging bald men (Kevin Spacey and Gene Hackman, most notably) and Eisenberg’s a little younger than Superman (Henry Cavill) and much younger than Batman (you know who’s playing him.) Warner Brothers also announced that Jeremy Irons will be playing Batman’s trusty butler Alfred, who joins Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and a long list of rumored superheroes, so things are getting a little crowded.
