In an interview with Time, actor Jeff Goldblum confirmed that he has been approached to appear in a sequel to the classic ‘90s blockbuster Independence Day. Goldblum told the outlet that the project had been in the works for while, but was still somewhat up in the air: “‘Nebulous until actually’ is what that file is under, but yeah, they’re still talking about it and I’ve heard recent rumblings here and there about it, and ‘Oh, there’s a scripting coming in’—maybe last weekend there was a script handed in, so it’s brewing.” A sequel to the alien disaster mega-hit has been rumored to be in development for months, even though Will Smith has already said he won’t return to the franchise.
