Former Child Star and Diplomat Shirley Temple Black Has Died

Former child actress and U.S. diplomat Shirley Temple Black has passed away at the age of 85. As a child, Shirley Temple was one of the most iconic stars in Hollywood before retiring from the movie business at the age of 22, and going on to live a fairly normal and well-adjusted life, which is a nice change of pace. After getting married, she changed her name to Temple Black and later joined the U.S. delegation to the U.N. in the late ‘60s. She eventually served as the U.S. ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia. In a statement, her family said, “We salute her for a life of remarkable achievements as an actor, as a diplomat, and most importantly as our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and adored wife for fifty-five years of the late and much missed Charles Alden Black” …
