Flight Attendant Inconceivably Asks Man to Remove ‘Princess Bride’ T-Shirt

Suppose you see a man wearing a shirt that says, “Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.” What would you do? Chuckle? Compliment him on his exquisite movie taste? Think that maybe a fully grown man shouldn’t be wearing ironic movie quotes on shirts but, whatever, life is short, wear whatever makes you happy? Well, if those were your reactions, you were not among the passengers on a Qantas flight from Sydney to Auckland. Because those people thought that Wynand Mullins, wearer of said shirt, was surely an uncommonly forthright terrorist who was making his intentions plain via his shirt. The attendants asked him to remove the shirt (there are no reports that Mullins responded, “As you wish,” which is a complete and utter travesty) but, seeing as he’d packed no spare, they decided to let the matter drop. And, if they were at all decent people, they would have then informed the nervous passengers about a certain movie they really must make time to watch …
