Hemingway allegedly wrote 39 copies of A Farewell to Arms before settling on one that he was happy with so, obviously, the powers that be have decided to respect his legacy by trusting that he published the version he was happy with, since it was clearly the result of painstaking creative effort. Just kidding, they’ve decided to release a new and improved version of Hemingway’s classic, with alternative endings. Because leaving literary classics alone and writing new books just seemed like too much work …
