The wildfires that tore through SoCal just a few weeks earlier may have cleared vegetation that would have served as a buffer to the mudslides that now threaten residents.
Mandatory evacuation orders affect over 6,000 residents of Santa Barabara County, while voluntary evacuation orders affect another 20,000.
