Dan Harmon ‘Pessimistic’ about ‘Community’ Getting Saved by Hulu

Though there’s still some hope that Community will get its #SixSeasonAndAMovie, series creator Dan Harmon is not optimistic that Hulu will make it happen. After if was announced that NBC was not going to renewed the fan-favorite series for a sixth season, conversations between Hulu and producers led to rumors that the show would find new life online. But now, Harmon isn’t so optimistic. According to the Calgary Herald, at a film festival yesterday, he said, “I know now that Sony was indeed talking to Hulu and Hulu is indeed interested. What I can’t say and what I’m pretty cynical about, just because I think it’s better to be pessimistic and be pleasantly surprised, is that they could make anything happen.” He noted how challenging it would be at this point to reunite the cast, many of whom are rising Hollywood stars. Though he said that he would personally be interested in the possibility of creating a spin-off, for now, fans of the Greendale Community College gang probably shouldn’t get their hopes up …
