Daft Punk to Appear on ‘The Colbert Report’

Even though they previously claimed to have no plans to perform Random Access Memories live, French music duo Daft Punk will reportedly be making an appearance on The Colbert Report tomorrow night. The live performance marks the first time in three years that the group has actually played some form of live show. (In 2010, they joined Phoenix on stage for a couple of songs at a concert at Madison Square Garden.) The latest album from Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, broke streaming records when it released in May, but since then, aside from a couple of TV commercials, the actual band hasn’t made many public appearances. There’s no word yet if Colbert plans on interviewing the duo when they appear on his show on Tuesday, but either way, it should make for some interesting TV …
