‘Atlanta,’ ‘The Americans’ Lead the Way in the 2017 Emmy Nominations

The Emmys aren’t going to be handed out until mid-September (hosted by Stephen Colbert, so it’ll be worth watching) but now we know who’s competing. The nominees were announced Thursday morning by Veep‘s Anna Chlumsky and S.W.A.T’s Shemar Moore.

Best Drama had a lot of fresh faces this year, with Handmaid’s Tale, Stranger Things, This Is Us and Westworld all making an appearance in their first season. Comedy had some more veteran players, like Veep and Silicon Valley. Lots of love for The Night Of, Atlanta and Better Call Saul too.
