’30 Rock’ Will Return With a New Hour-Long Special

Since NBC is determined to make it 2006 again through science or magic, it is slowly attempting to briefly resurrect all of its last decade of most beloved hits while the world stays (sorta) on COVID-19 lockdown. Next up, the ripest plumb of all: 30 Rock. NBC has announced that Liz, Jack, Tracy, Jenna and the gang will remotely reunite for a new hour-long episode that will double as an upfront special.

On Thursday, July 16, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, Jack McBrayer and the rest of the gang will show up again on NBC to reprise their 30 Rock roles, and the episode will be re-broadcast across all of NBC’s properties before making its way to Peacock —NBC’s new streaming service that will debut on July 15.

30 Rock debuted in 2006 and was one of the sharpest and most beloved shows of its era, consistently engaging in the boldly wacky hijinks of Liz Lemon’s time running a thinly veiled SNL-knockoff.
