17-Year-Old Girl Creates Cancer-Killing Nanoparticle

Angela Zhang is a 17-year-old girl who is probably a good deal like most 17-year-old girls. In all likelihood, she spends most of her time doing normal teenage girl stuff. The only difference is, most teenage girls aren’t making major contributions to complex medical fields utilizing advanced technological innovations well beyond the capabilities of all but the most seasoned veterans of science. Come to think, most adults aren’t doing that either. But Miss Zhang has won $100,000 for developing a nanoparticle that kills cancer. The project is called a “Design of Image-guided, Photo-thermal Controlled Drug Releasing Multifunctional Nanosystem for the Treatment of Cancer Stem Cells,” obviously, and it’s encouragement for everyone to get going on your big life achievement …
