Terminally Ill ‘Simpsons’ Co-Creator Is Giving Away Almost All of His Money

Though Sam Simon has worked on a variety of high-profile Hollywood projects throughout his career, the 58-year-old is best known as the co-creator of The Simpsons. Earlier this year, Simon was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and doctors have told him he has just months to live. Now, he plans on donating almost all of his tens of millions of dollars in Simpson royalties to charity. A passionate animal rights advocate, he’s already given huge portions of his fortune to PETA and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, as well as Save the Children and his own vegan food relief organization, the Sam Simon Foundation. He told The Hollywood Reporter, “The truth is, I have more money than I’m interested in spending. Everyone in my family is taken care of. And I enjoy this” …

Sam Simon passed away in March 2015.
