When Tyra Blomqvist lost her teddy bear in the park, she did a very sensible thing and hung signs around her native Swedish island of Kungsholmen. Not content with dumb old signs, the Stockholm police have launched a full investigation into the missing bear, utilizing an extensive social media campaign that promises to rescue the poor bear and bring the perp to justice. "Together," they said, "through 'liking' this picture, spreading the link, and keeping our eyes open, we can together make it so Tyra gets her beloved teddy back. With every rereading of I John, it occurs to me that at some point, I need to talk about the I John 5:15, “And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him” (NAS).
Recently I found a writing exercise that directed, “List 25 things [objects] that represent to you sophistication and success.” After making my list, I glanced back over the handwritten page. Reading over my catalog of tokens of sophistication, such as “the perfect little black dress” and “trips to Europe,” I realized that I already own, have owned or am on my way to owning several of the things on my list.
