Yesterday, Google released a video of what the world will look like when wearing its new "augmented reality" eyeglasses. The video depicts the ability to search the web, get directions, shoot videos and take pictures all through a screen built into the inside of the lens. But getting your hands on the new technology won’t be easy. Google is only making its new product available for “testing” to winners of an online contest who apply via tweet with the hashtag #ifihadglass. The chosen few will then be eligible to fork over $1,500 for the glasses. There’s no word yet on when Google Glass will hit retail stores, but The New York Times has reported that Google is in talks with the innovative eyewear maker Warby Parker to help design the frames so that Glass wearers don’t look like they walked off the set of an early ‘90s sci-fi movie … Discuss

 

For months now, we've been hearing about Google's new glasses project, which basically makes a pair of glasses into a wearable smartphone. But it's been a rare sight to see them in the wild.
