The headliners for this year’s Lollapalooza have been announced, and the lineup looks pretty impressive. Indie rock bands were the big winners at last night’s Grammy Awards, with Gotye (Record of the Year, Best Group Performance, Best Alternative Album), Fun. (Best New Artist, Song of the Year) and Mumford & Sons (Album of the Year, Best Long Form Music Video) all taking home awards in the main categories. Other notable winners included Grammy newcomer Frank Ocean for Best Urban Contemporary Album, breakout Christian hip-hop star Lecrae for Best Gospel Album and The Black Keys for Best Rock Album (you can go here for a full list of winners and here for a guide to the Grammy’s more ridiculous moments over the last 50 years). But the real story of the night was its performances—young acts including Mikky Ekko, Frank Ocean and The Lumineers, along with classic favorites like Sting, Elton John, Chuck D and Mavis Staples all took center stage for live performances throughout the ceremony. Folk rocker and Tim Tebow look-a-like Marcus Mumford is back (with the rest of his bandmates) as Grammy-nominated Mumford & Sons announces its new album, Babel, due out September 25th. The beginning of indie folk-pop buzz band The head and the heart can be traced back to an open-mic night two years ago in Seattle. none of the members were acquainted before that night, but their admiration for each other’s displayed talents led them to perform together in living rooms and tiny bars.

Since then, their playful melodies and the clap-and-stomp-along energy of their live shows have led many from Seattle to dub the band its next big thing. Read More
