Louis C.K. to Star in, Direct and Write New Indie Film

Actor, filmmaker, comedian and writer Louis C.K. is taking his talents back to the big screen. For the first time since 2001’s disastrous Pootie Tang, C.K. will direct a feature film. The stand-up comedy superstar will write, direct and star in the upcoming indie I’m a Cop about a law enforcement volunteer who becomes an actual police officer after the death of his “highly decorated retired officer” mother. C.K.’s career has come a long way since his last foray into big screen filmmaking nearly a decade and a half ago. Along with overseeing his acclaimed FX series Louis, he’s also a successful stand-up. In April, he admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that he learned a lot from his early experience with Hollywood movie-making: “I was dealing with people every day whose pressures I didn’t understand, and I wasn’t very nice about how I said no to them. I put myself in a position I didn’t have to be in. A lot of what makes this kind of stuff work is empathy” …
