Sure, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame isn’t without its critics—who should get to determine what’s rock and roll, and what’s not? And without stats like sports halls of fame, why do some great artists get snubbed and some get recognized? Though receiving the honor isn’t exactly a perfect science, the hall itself, in Cleveland, Ohio, is a pretty great place to visit as a music lover.
For the third straight year, fans have a say on who will be inducted. The 2015 fan-vote ballot contains a combination of big names—Green Day, The Smiths, N.W.A., Nine Inch Nails, Sting, Stevie Ray Vaughan—as well as some under appreciated acts that have made a lasting impact on American pop music—Chic, Lou Reed, Bill Withers, War, Kraftwerk, The Marvelettes—and more.
