U.S. Concerned about North Korean Nukes

In a statement to the U.N’s International Atomic Energy Organization, the U.S. said North Korea’s re-engagement of its nuclear program presents “clear violations of multiple (U.N.) resolutions and must cease immediately.” The statement comes after the U.S. Army commander in the Pacific said military officials had detected “increased militarization” of the program, adding that the distance North Korean missiles could travel with nuclear warheads is “of great concern” to the United States. The U.S. is currently undergoing military training with South Korea, a country with whom North Korea is technically still at war with. At the same time, North Korea launched their own missile tests this week. The North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Su Yon told the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva that the military activity created “especially high possibility of sparking off a war,” and claimed that his country could hit the U.S. with a preemptive nuclear attack …
