Hey, love demands sacrifice, and if you’re not willing to pay the price, then why even call it love? Such was the mindset of Detroit’s Ramsey Fakhouri, who was in love with a girl (they met at a Bible college, the AP reports) but lacked the financial resources to seal the deal. So, he did what any lovebird would do: hatched a plan to straight up rob the bank his girlfriend worked at. Unbeknownst to the girlfriend (ladies love surprises!), Fakhouri and an accomplice waited outside the bank until his girlfriend’s boss came out and then mugged her with realistic-looking toy guns, forcing her to hand over the contents of the bank ATM. And they did all this on Valentine’s Day, because Ramsey is a true romantic.
Fakhouri’s girlfriend later called him to voice her fears about the robbery she had just witnessed. Unfortunately for them and true love, the robbery was captured by the bank’s surveillance cameras and Fakhouri’s girlfriend—suddenly immune to his charms—recognized her beau as the culprit. She turned him over to the police, and so our love story comes to its end, with an important reminder: don’t rob your girlfriend’s bank to pay for an engagement ring …
