Record Store Day is April 20, and it’s the most wonderful time of the year. Well, that might not be true, but it should be true. Record stores, who once held a monopoly on cool music, are now holdovers from bygone days, into which only the most devoted of music nerds dares venture. Record stores are financially strapped, vital to the music industry and could probably use a special holiday. Honestly, who couldn’t, but Record Stores have one, so let’s celebrate. To commemorate this holiday, indie-rock mainstays Manchester Orchestra have teamed up with both hippie psych-pop wonders Grouplove and mournful Scottish rockers Frightened Rabbit for two very good songs. “Architect” (a whispery acoustic ballad with Frightened Rabbit) and “Make it to Me” (an upbeat, dance-ish number with Grouplove) are both available to stream here, and you can buy them in a local record store on April 20 …
