No sooner had Sufjan Stevens unleashed his very normal stop-motion Christmas LEGO video on the world than word came from Asthmatic Kitty that November 13 will see the release of a true Christmas miracle: a massive boxset of brand new Sufjan Christmas material, entitled Silver and Gold, a 60-song collection of old classics, experimental pop extravaganzas and that almost undefinable Sufjan-y eccentricity that can be a little hard to swallow but is impossible to hate. The set will include all the bells and whistles that are the hallmark of his Christmas releases: stickers, temporary tattoos, posters, lyric and chord sheets, a Christmas ornament, crazy liner notes, a coloring book, "hallucinogenic photographs and psychedelic graphic design" and a partridge in a pear tree. And it will feature appearances by Sufjan's frequent band of merry elves, like the National's Dessner boys, some members of Arcade Fire, most of Danielson and Sufjan's right-hand woman for Age of Adz, Cat Martino.
