Science has confirmed what you’ve long suspected: naps are awesome. A new collection of scientific data on naps show that sleeping during the day—even if only for a few minutes—can give you renewed energy, make you more alert, and improve cognitive functions like memory and creativity. One of the recommendations of the research is to plan your naps so that they are within an optimal sleep cycle: Napping for less than 20 minutes will give you a quick boost and prevent grogginess.
