Speaking at the Social Good Summit in New York this week, Virgin Galactic founder Richard Branson said that his company will begin offering trips to space as early as 2014. The super-billionaire said that beyond the thrill of traveling high above the earth, the new space ship and satellite technology his company is working on has the ability to do “transformative things for the world.” For example, “We’re going to be able to monitor if a ship is fishing illegally—we can spot it live through our satellites.
