Question of the Day: What's the Greatest Rivalry of All Time?

Batman vs Joker. Tupac vs Biggie. Yankees vs Red Sox. Jim vs Dwight. Great rivalries provide the rest of us with a team to root for, drama to die for and a little bit of tension to keep us on our toes. But some rivalries affect us a little deeper than others. So, what's your favorite? And, more important, who are you rooting for?

Okay, fine, I'll take the bait. Let's go the nerd route...

Intel vs. AMD for processors, AMD vs. nVidia for graphics cards,
Windows vs. OSX for consumer PC operating systems (sorry Linux, you're not really competing), and Android vs. iOS for mobile operating systems

I'd always go Intel and nVidia. Windows/OSX don't really matter, just a preference thing, I like both. And I'd go iOS over android... mostly because I hate my droid and used to have an iPhone that I loved.

Nerd time over! Someone, quick, name a sports rivalry!

Alabama vs. Auburn.

Alabama all the way :)

Or, to take it a different route....

Axis vs. Allies in WW2 was a pretty epic rivalry, in the sense that they were in fact actual rivals.

Democratic-Republican Party vs. the Federalists in the late 1790s/early 1800s. We wouldn't be where we are today with that rivalry. Or for that matter the "rivalry" between the U.S. and Great Britain.

Or how about the rivalry between Jack and Sawyer in LOST? Yeah, I'll end it on that note...
