Question of the Day: What's the First Novel You Remember Reading?

We're not talking about The Very Hungry Caterpillar here (although it's a masterpiece. Duh.) What's the first actual book with chapters in it you remember reading? And, just as important, have you read it again since?

This is the first novel I remember reading. It was given to me by a teacher as I'd read my way through the school library by the age of 7, so Iguess I must have read a fair few before it!
This one realy stuck with me though, and I've read it a fairfew times in the last 18 years, so much in fact that I've got at least 3 dog-eared copies on my bookshelf!

The Hobbit around age 6 or seven...went on to try the Lord of the Rings and couldn't get past the first book for three or four years. Have read the Hobbit around 12 times by now.
