Obamacare Brings Papa John's to Its Knees

Papa John's is once again changing the face of the health care reform debate, with Mr. Papa John Schnatter putting his pizza where his mouth is in regard to statements he made earlier this year about the drastic measures he'd have to make in the event of Obama's re-election. Although Schnatter originally said that he'd have to raise the price of his pizzas 10 to 14 cents per pie to account for Obamacare, he's now saying employers may have to cut their employee's hours as well. "That's probably what's going to happen," he said according to NaplesNews.com. "It's common sense. That's what I call lose-lose" Yes, Papa John, but if you factor in that the higher cost of pizzas might drive more people to just eat whatever cold pizza is lying around the house, it might be more of a lose-lose-lose ...

Yeah, I haven't noticed a rush to Costa Rica to take advantage of your "cheap" healthcare...

You'll be surprised of how many americans come here for our "cheap" medicine.. We have a life expectancy of 78.8 years, and some of the best doctors in the world! It's not cheap dude, it's pay by everyone!!

what an amazing response! I am a US citizen, but living in South Africa for the past 6 years. Its amazing the different perspectives you get when you step out of the US bubble! keep speaking out- the world needs to hear it.

Actually, there have been several US citizens to cross borders for this exact reason. Those without healthcare in the US have had to find it in Mexico and Canada. Hopefully Obamacare will make this not necessary. Sure, it may cost you a bit more in tax money and make wealthy CEO's take a cut- but its a small price to pay for healthcare- which SHOULD be a basic human right.

Access to healthcare IS a basic human right. All and everyone deserves equal care.
