Unicode—the company behind emoji—have announced that some 250 new emojis are on the way, to save us all the hassle of thinking of words. Pictures are worth a thousands words so, adjusting for inflation, 250 new emojis are probably worth about -5 words. And what emojis we have to look forward to: There’s going to be a host of new weather-related emojis (great), some shopping bag emojis (obviously), something being described as “Reversed Hand with Middle Finger Extended” (oh brother) and a floppy disk emoji (?).
