McDonald’s Is Giving Employees a Raise and Paid Time Off

McDonald’s employees are getting a raise. The fast food giant announced that all workers it directly employees—not the ones who work for franchise owners—will be paid $1 more than the local minimum wage at their location. They’ll also get as many as five paid days off every year, if they’ve been on staff for at least a year. Though the raise only applies to 10 percent of the McDonald’s workforce (the vast majority work at franchise stores), the move still provides 90,000 employees with more money in their paychecks when the new policy goes in effect this summer …
