Tilburg University has published a study that says feeling lonely actually cools your body temperature down about 0.378 degrees, which isn’t much, but in the cold winter months, every little bit counts. No word on which genius at Tilburg had a hunch on this one that led to the study, but kudos to them. Apparently, feelings of social isolation can slow down your heart rate or even narrow the blood vessels in your periphery, cooling your fingers and toes.
