As everyone knows, Texas takes their football very seriously. And after three years and $60 million, the residents of Allen, Texas are ready to prove just how seriously, by opening their new high school football stadium. The stadium features 18,000 seats, two luxury suites, an NFL-quality press box, and a 3,400-square-foot HD video scoreboard. It's doing significantly better than the Allen school district, which had to lay off 44 teaching positions over the past school year. The stadium construction budget didn't come out of the school district budget, and voters had approved a measure to offset state education cuts by raising property taxes. All that to say, "Texas Forever" ...

It will be. They only play 5 games a year and Texas loves HS football. It sells out quite often in Texas.

What Caleb said. Plus they were spending $3-4 million a year on temporary seating which was getting ridiculous.

They can raise taxes to build a stadium but not to improve the rest of their schools? This makes their priorities even more painfully obvious than they already are.
