Hollywood Caves to the Global Demand for a “Hungry, Hungry Hippos Movie”

The geniuses of Tinsel Town did their best. They held out against the ever-increasing national plea—no, international demand—for a movie based on the classic(?) board game, “Hungry, Hungry Hippos.” They resisted. “But,” said Hollywood, “Why not make original films based on fresh ideas that speak to the here and now? Why not wield our immense power and influence to create progressive content relevant to this generation’s time and place, instead of a film adaption of a half-remembered game with no discernable plot or character?” That is what, doubtless, Hollywood moguls tried to tell us all. But we just wouldn’t listen, and finally, the film industry was left with no option but to give the people what they wanted
