A ‘Duck Dynasty’ Musical Is Coming to Las Vegas

Anyone who has ever visited one of Las Vegas’ grand stage shows has probably shared the same thought: What this production is missing is heavily bearded, Louisiana-based reality TV stars. Thankfully, your concerns have been heard. Producers are currently working on a musical adaptation of Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson’s bestselling book The Duck Commander Family that they plan to make a fixture of the Rio Hotel and Casino—the current home to the Chippendales and Penn & Teller shows.

Sure, considering the family’s vocal religious (and at times controversial) values, a Vegas stage show may seem like an odd pairing, but The Duck Commander Family Musical’s producer told the New York Times, that’s all part of the idea: “The show will end up challenging the views and assumptions of people across the political spectrum, more than most theater does. The Robertsons are so unusual, their story so juicy, and theater shouldn’t be limited to telling stories about people you resemble or revere” …
