At a recent investor conference, CEO Don Thompson said that sales of the fast food chain’s healthier options made up just 2 to 3 percent of overall U.S. sales. McDonald’s has even tried to brand the salads by adding meat to their names. As it turns out, not even a “Bacon Ranch” salad or a “Southwest with Crispy Chicken” salad is very appealing when coming from McDonald’s. Thompson told investors frankly, "I don’t see salads as being a major growth driver in the near future.” There’s always the “Filet-O-Fish.” That’s got to be kind of healthy …

Both times I have tried their salads, I got extremely sick. Let's just say I spent a lot more time in the bathroom over the course of the next day than is healthy for any human being. Never again.
That said, some (though apparently not many) people eat them every time they go to McDonald's and seem to be fine.

Doesn't surprise me too much either, Wesley. The many studies that have gone out about how a lot of fast food salads are actually just as bad or worse than the 'regular' items doesn't help either.

I eat the southwest salad with grilled chicken. I even almost enjoy it.
Wendy's outdoes the McD salad by 1000%
