Georgia-based charity Action Ministries claims to have set a new Guinness World Record for the most sandwiches made in a single hour. The group, which is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, reportedly made 2,988 cheese sandwiches in one hour on June 29 as part of an effort to support another charity called Smart Lunch, Smart Kid. The campaign seeks to provide meals for children who often do not receive adequate food during the summer, when schools lets out and school lunches are not provided. If the record is verified by Guinness, it will have broken Bacon Lover’s Deli Meat of New York’s mark of 2,706 sandwiches, which was set in May.
