Boy Scouts Delay Decision on Lifting Gay Ban

The executive board of the Boy Scouts of America announced today that it would delay its decision regarding allowing gay scouts and leaders until its national meeting in May. Last week, the organization said it was considering changing its policy, which currently prohibits gay members. President Obama (who supports lifting the ban), former Eagle Scout and Texas Governor Rick Perry (who does not), as well as values groups and gay-rights advocates have all recently spoken up on both sides of the issue.
