'This Is Living (feat. Lecrae)' is a standout collaboration with Grammy-winning rap artist Lecrae, a well-respected, strong voice for freedom to the current youth generation. The song was written in response to all God is doing in the youth ministry of Hillsong Church, and is a celebration of the life, joy and hope that is found in Jesus.

This Is Living is the much anticipated follow-up to Y&F's debut album, featuring five new recordings, of which three are brand new songs, all bursting with the vitality that is becoming synonymous with the Y&F team.

Lyrics:

VERSE 1:
Waking up knowing there’s a reason
All my dreams come alive
Life is for living with You
I’ve made my decision

VERSE 2:
You lift me up, fill my eyes with wonder
Forever young in Your love
This freedom’s untainted with You
No moment is wasted

PRE-CHORUS:
See the sun now bursting through the clouds
Black and white turn to colour all around
All is new, in the Saviour I am found
This is living now

CHORUS:
You take me higher than I’ve been before
It’s Your perfect love that sees me soar
God Your freedom is an open door
You are everything I want and more

VERSE 3:
You lead the way, God You’re right beside me
In Your love I’m complete
There’s nothing like living with You
This life You created I choose

RAP:
Maybe I ain't really know what living is
Is it love if it was am I living it?
Do I live in it?
So astounding
Love is an ocean you can drown me

The sweet embrace the lovely taste
I taste and see I'm under Grace
The place to be it means I don't ever need an umbrella
I'm cool in the cold and the hot weather

Whether or never I ever understand
I'm a man in the hands of great plans
I stand with faith in a life I never known or touched
It's still outside my clutch but

I'm like what's to dream of and what's to hope in
What's to die for and live to no end
This is living
The life I've been given's a gift
If I’m gonna live it I’m gonna live it to death!

So what's to dream of and what's to hope in
What's to die for and live to no end
This is living
The life I've been given's a gift
If I’m gonna live it I’m gonna live it to death!

Hello Brenda,

About picking up the cross, Jesus was talking in response to who wanted to be a disciple. It was a cross of purpose, not of sin (cause he handled already that one). HIllsong Y&F made a song about that in this EP, called "Pursue".

Now this song here talks about another say of Jesus: "I came for you to have abundant life" "I make all things new". It is, in this moment, a call to salvation (not discipleship yet). Two different approaches of the same Jesus in two different songs.
Hope I've clarified it for you.
Be blessed

The verses at the beginning are perfect to introduce "This Is Living." This is the best Y&F music video.

Nicely done. Love the vibrance and colors and LIFE that is only found in Jesus, depicted really well here.

My housemate made this video! He's good, maybe a little too good.

I'm not feeling this music video, they keep singing "this is living now" and have clips of people long boarding, goofing off, shopping etc. Living for Christ isn't about having fun, I'm not saying that we're supposed to be miserable, but we're called to give up everything and pick up our cross. Maybe I'm being to uptight, but that's just my take on it.

Besides, I see this whole song as an expression of how I feel about following Christ. A continuous moment of freedom, clarity, and endless joy. Even as we carry our cross, this song is exactly how I feel.

Brenda, I completely agree with you. Living for Christ is so much more than having 'peace', and then going about celebrating with something from the world. To me at least, abundant life in Christ is when we follow and serve Him. It is because we are free that we are able to serve others and give of ourselves like no one else can. I was disappointed with this music video, because instead of helping the broken, or seeking others who need life, this video showed that "living" looks just like the rest of the world--shopping, arcades, eating with friends, etc.
