Taking center stage, getting the girl/guy, getting your name in the paper: that's all easy. You want a real challenge? Be a sidekick. Sidekicks have to know how to help without getting in the way, be a hero without being the hero, and know when to fade into the background when it's time for the star of the show to take a bow. Who's your pick for the greatest sidekick of all time?

Robin! He grew up out of his mentor's wing and became his own hero under the name Nightwing. He even took on the mantle of Batman. Except that last part didn't officially happen now... I think... Stupid reboot...

I agree with Andy. Dick Grayson, the original Robin, is thequintessential sidekick. Most sidekicks are parodies of him anyway. And like Andy said, he learned from his mentor and eventually stepped out from his shadow and became a hero in his own right.

Okay I do remember that but I hadn't heard anything else and didn't know if it was a rumor or a dropped storyline.
