Dan Haseltine

This week we talk to Dan Haseltine (Jars of Clay, The Hawk In Paris) about his role with Blood:Water Mission, and the campaign they're embarking on this season called Deck The Stalls. And while that is 100% serious stuff, the crew takes things in the complete opposite direction by playing a Price-Is-Right-style Black Friday game, recapping the finale of the Twilight movie series, and discussing male nail polish. This episode is the turducken of podcasts!

Question of the Week

What are your top 5 signs that the end of the world is nigh?

Calvin, regularly known for his Top (whatever number) lists, really dropped the ball this week with his five bullet points that the end of the world is nigh. As you know, the world is predicted to end next month on December 21. So this week we want you to help Calvin out and provide your own top 5 signs that humanity will only survive for another few weeks.

So
I was listening to the podcast and it got me thinking, the signs of the
Apocalypse are so easy to see and you've already covered most of them. So
here's my list of top 5 signs that humanity will only survive for another few
weeks.

#5
The marriage of Avril Lavigne and the lead singer of Nickelback.

We
are all aware that Canada has produced some of the worst pop artists of all
time, imagine what the child of this couple could do to music. Nature will
surely intervene.

#4
The Return of Arrested Development

We
all know that fans of any cult classic never get their shows back no matter how
hard they try. Now that the whole cast and crew has agreed to return nature
will be forced to intervene.

#3
Justin Bieber Dominating the AMA's

Showing
that American music has passed its prime. Surely the end is near.

#2
Nick Cage bringing back the left behind series.

What
greater sign is there that we are entering the end of days than Nick Cage
making a movie about the end of days.

#
1 The Creation of a 26lb Gummy Cobra

[That's
it]

Bonus
Round! Lil Wayne Going into Retirement!

How
will our culture survive without him?

OK, the question may have been to list the top 5 signs the apocalypse is upon us, but I hate following directions, so here are my top 5 reasons the world WON'T end on 12/21 (despite it being an oddly ominous palindrome):

5. Google hasn't taken over the world just yet.
4. Those mall kiosks are already selling 2013 calendars. I don't know how
much to trust a Mayan I've never met, but 1,000 mall kiosks CAN'T be
wrong.
3. Michael J. Fox has already visited 2015 (in the 1983 documentary Back to the Future).
2. Kirk Cameron has yet to issue our 7-year warning.
1. Just in case, the CIA has assembled John Tesh, Chuck Norris, JCVD, Rambo (not Sly-- Rambo), and Jungle Bird into a top-secret Planetary Defense Team to save the planet and its forests just in case they face imminent harm.

Totally not related to the question of the week, but I love this and the "visually-inclined" student's response:http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lo...
