CREATIVE DIRECTOR
RELEVANT Media Group, publishers of RELEVANT, Neue and several websites, is looking for a creative director. The position oversees the creative development of our media products as well as the work we do for clients. The ideal candidate has more than 5 years of agency or media design experience, as well as creative director or senior-level management experience.
To paraphrase an article at graphicpush.com, the ideal candidate needs to be OK with the fact that the time to actually create — designing — will be less than half of a non-managing creative. He must be able to provide constructive, specific and intelligible feedback about design work, and make the creative team members operate to their fullest potential. He must understand the specific ying-yang balance of copy and design, skills, budgets and creative innovation. The candidate must be able to work with the marketing team in coming up with creative strategies to accomplishing goals -- not just designing good-looking ads.
The creative director will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected, as well as an in-depth knowledge and personal commitment to RELEVANT’s audience and mission. Will report to top management.
Interested candidates please send your portfolio and resume to publisher Cameron Strang at cameron@relevantmediagroup.com. (Please do not send an email without a portfolio attached.)
