The Most Cringeworthy Christian T-Shirts of All Time

So. Many. Puns.

If you’ve ever been to a Christian music festival or were a member of a youth group in the late-'90s, then you are likely no stranger to Christian T-shirts. They typically incorporate some sort appropriated logo of a well-known product, possibly a Bible verse reference and always one of the worst dad jokes you’ve ever heard.

The pun game of Christian T-shirt designers literally had no limits.

We asked you, our readers, to send us the most cringeworthy Christian T-shirts you’ve ever seen or owned, and you did not disappoint. Here’s a look at some of our favorites.

My personal favorite, that I wore weekly in high school said, "I once was blind but now I see." And the "I See" part was the Icee logo. It was solid gold if you ask me.

Phew! None of our shirts (www.lightenupgear.com) made the list...although I just had a vendor contact me because he said he wanted to work with a Christian t-shirt brand that wasn't cheesy. ;)

I had never seen your shirts before, but some of them are really funny. Sharing the Comic Sans shirt with some fellow judgmental typography nerds.

As a certified dad, I must insist that comparing some of these shirts to dad puns is an insult to dad puns everywhere. ; )

It's my opinion only that t-shirts, etc., going all the way back to the 70's and the "I Found It" button don't draw people to Jesus.

Okay, if they do not draw people to Jesus...What are they for? Maybe a reminder to myself to try to act like a Christian, assert myself as an (undignified) Christian. Would my t-shirt draw Christians unto me? Just like a Trump hat might "Make America Great Again"? I doubt it, but it might be a conversation starter. I once had a student who wore a t shirt advertising a Nevada brothel. He was 10 years old. (Principal made him turn it inside out. I also saw a homeless man in a ragged sorority sweatshirt....

These are great. In some ways they're awesome, but in another way- they represent things people hate about Christianity. But, they are definitely funny. I shared some similar ideas about the things Christians say: http://davidthorne.me/christianese-not-suitable-for-small-group/
